Excellent holiday with a few minor issues

1st time in Dubai in may & its been really good, lovely & warm without the humidity we had in September Must get the negatives out the way as feel they have to be mentioned but did not greatly affect our time at Sofitel the palm! On arrival we felt we did not get enough information about how everything worked ect. So room, restaurants, even just pointing you in the direction on the app which does help! We booked sea view luxury room which turned out to be on the 1st floor with trees infront & had a king sized bed with no bed for our 4 year old, we complained & got moved swiftly to a higher floor which was lovely but still no bed for our 4 year old. So I rang up & they sent someone to make up the sofa where to put a sheet over the sofa which again for a 10 day holiday I didn’t think was acceptable, so next day they came with a single bed which was roll in which was fine but in other luxury hotels we’ve had rooms with 2 x queen beds with plenty space so I guess I’d say the rooms are on the smaller side but again not a massive deal for us in the end! We just felt after a 10 hour journey we shouldn’t have been having to deal with this!! Then to top it off the new room water was dirty so we had to move on again so probably lost 1/2 day moving rooms! Only other small negative I had was the pools were not temperature controlled so wasn’t refreshing once they got hot like baths! Just wasn’t pleasant! Again other hotels we’ve stayed in have done this & kept the water cool! Ok so on to all the positives which believe me there’s lots! Most importantly the food in every restaurant is to the highest quality My favorite was the Asian but I’ve not tried the Indian yet! Least fav would be the steakhouse but only because we are from Scotland & I’m biased as I believe scotch beef is the finest in the world & we have some of the best steak restaurants! Premium lounge a must & all the staff were excellent especially Akash who was the friendliest & hardest working guy we met! An absolute credit to this hotel! With the premium lounge you get breakfast, high tea then 2 hours “happy hour” in the evening with a good selection of drinks! All areas in the hotel are beautiful & smelt amazing, house keeping were excellent maybe only thing I’d mention was they would change every single towel sometimes twice a day as they do a turndown also so that could be seen as wasting alot of energy! I’m more than happy to use a towel twice so maybe a system where towels are placed in the bath that you want changed & any that are hanging to dry are left! So all in all a lovely hotel & a great holiday so anyone booking you will have a lovely time!

Great spot for drinks and food

Such a great spot to visit - we came as a couple with our 10 week old baby. Everyone was so helpful, especially Ankamma, with assisting with our pram and ensuring we were happy throughout. Will be sure to visit again as a couple and also with children.

Simply it’s a Perfect stay in Sofitel my family enjoyed a lot .they do have many options for restaurants different cuisines Rodney at the desk is very helpful also shefli is very friendly . We will be back soon looking forward to it . Location is incredible ❤️
